IMPORTANT:

This website is not a counselling service for victims/survivors of child sexual abuse from CALD communities. If you would like to see someone (e.g. counsellor, social worker, psychologist) who has been trained in issues relevant to CALD children, families, and communities please refer to the list of organisations below.

List of service organisations with certified staff

If you are a victim/survivor of child sexual abuse from a CALD community you may be scared that Anglo Australian service providers will not understand your cultural needs and concerns. You may also be scared that if service providers from your own cultural community find out about the abuse it will tarnish the family’s name.

It is for these reasons an education program was developed for service providers from all cultural backgrounds. This way, you can pick what is best for you and be assured you will receive a service that is culturally sensitive and confidential.

Please note:

  • You will need to go to the organisation’s website for more information on how to contact them.

  • Only some (not all) staff within these organisations have completed this education program.

  • Organisations in Queensland are NOT mandatory reporters – they do not need to tell a child protection authority. If you are inter-state, you may wish to access their telephone counselling.
